Yesterday we moved from the villa to the hotel proper. We have a delightful room just a stone’s throw from the piscina – and the hotel staff to cater to our every whim.

The hotel describes its rooms as suites as each has a sleeping area, a living area and an outside balcony with a view across the bay. By European hotel room standards, they are generous in the extreme. For us it’s luxury.

So today we have a day to relax and prepare for our Sicilian adventure.
