We have a Madonna. Just down the road from the villa is a short set of steps leading up to a statue of Mary set into the cliff. She is behind glass to protect her from the elements and is lit at night.
As people walk or drive past, they cross themselves. The Madonna always has fresh flowers which are left by passers by. From talking to the locals – who all know the Madonna – this is quite a well known landmark and it’s part of the Villa Greta property.
As temporary minders of the property I wonder what our responsibilities are?
