Last week Wellington was a soggy place. On Thursday torrential rain caused flooding in some parts of the city and travel was badly disrupted. Thunder and lightning punctuated one of those late autumn days when the sky was only ever varying shades of dark grey.

But as often happening in this town, the next day was a complete contrast. During my drive to work Friday morning I couldn’t help but stop and take a few shots of the city from Oriental Bay. The shots were taken on my iPhone at 8am in the morning.
